Petals, the Baby Loss Counselling Charity, is recruiting for two voluntary positions to join its Board of Trustees.

Petals exists to provide specialist counselling, free-of-charge, to anyone who has lost a pregnancy or experienced the death of a baby as a result of miscarriage, stillbirth, termination for medical reasons or neonatal loss.

Our vision is that every parent in the UK has easy and timely access to specialist counselling following baby loss. Our mission is to provide and promote specialist counselling for parents across the UK following baby loss.

Our current 5-year strategy will see us expand from having a presence across the south-east and London, to nationwide service provision. We are seeking Trustees who want to help us make sure this ambitious plan is successful.

The two new Trustees will ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:
– Business and Finance
– Law
– Human Resources

Birte Harlev-Lam OBE, who is the Executive Director for Professional Leadership at the Royal College of Midwives, explains why she enjoys being a Trustee at Petals: “They are lovely people. Really hardworking and so dedicated. For me, when I look at the data and stats coming out to see how many couples have been supported that gives me real pleasure to see as these are couples who may have otherwise gone on to have really long-term psychological trauma.”
