We are so excited to announce that we have reached the finals of the National Lottery Awards!!  Our Lottery-funded pilot project is competing against six other projects for the title of Best Health Project.

The Awards are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects, and they aim to celebrate and recognise the difference that those projects have made to people, places and communities across the UK.

The Petals pilot project was set up to offer a specialist counselling service to couples who have suffered trauma or loss in pregnancy and childbirth across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, and North Essex.  The charity hopes in the future to be able to offer the service nationally, and has used the pilot project to evidence the need for the service, as well as learning some valuable lessons about the best way to run the service!

The Lottery money has allowed the charity to provide it’s counselling service free of charge to over 80 couples.  This award would be great recognition of all the work that has gone in to getting the charity up and running but would also help us to move on to the next stage of growth, into other areas and other hospitals.  We could also be in with the chance of appearing on a BBC One show!!

We need your vote to help us win! Please support us by visiting www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/project/petals to cast your vote.

Every vote counts, so we would really appreciate you taking the time to do this. Voting ends on 23rd July 2014 so you’ve got plenty of time to get your friends and colleagues to vote too :-)

We’ll keep you updated on our progress – thank you.
