A former client of Petals, Louise Cooke, has raised an impressive £732.50 for Petals by organising a sponsored walk for herself and her friends.  Louise said that she wanted to organise the fundraising event to “say thank you to Karen and to Petals”.

Having never done any sort of sponsored event before, Louise decided that the 14 mile route around the Wimpole Way in Cambridgeshire sounded like a good challenge, and set up a fundraising page on the Bmycharity website to collect sponsorship.  She encouraged friends, partners, dogs etc to take part, and all was set for a lovely summer’s walk on a Sunday afternoon in July.

As you will see from the photos, the weather was not so kind to them, and they encountered a fair amount of rain and mud on their walk!  However, it looks like everyone enjoyed themselves regardless, and Louise was very touched by how much money they managed to raise.

We at Petals are very grateful to Louise for taking the time to organise this and also to all who contributed either by joining in with the walk or by sponsoring the event.  The charity is reliant on funds such as these to be able to keep offering counselling to those who need it, and we appreciate every effort that anyone makes to contribute to the cause.  Thank you :-)
