A charity event, featuring the 60s band ‘Reminisce’, has raised £1,004 for Petals.

Over 130 people attended the event at the British Legion Club in Histon last month, and enjoyed an evening of live music and dancing. Highlights of the night included a performance of Mustang Sally, in which around 10 members of the audience got up on stage and joined in – and a great night was had by all. A raffle also raised over £300 of the total funds.

The event was organised by Julie Potter, who is a keen supporter of Petals: ‘It was a brilliant night – the band were on great form and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves! I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone for coming, and for their generous donations throughout the night. It is fantastic to have raised so much money. The Petals cause is really close to my heart and I’m delighted to be able to support it’.

Petals is currently trying to raise £35,000 in order to launch its counselling service for parents who have suffered trauma or loss during pregnancy and birth. Of this, it aims for £10,000 to be raised through fundraising events such as this one.

The trustees of Petals are extremely grateful to Julie Potter for arranging the event, and to the band Reminisce, Party People and the British Legion Club for their support.
