We’re absolutely thrilled to tell you about a fabulous bit of fundraising that has taken place recently for Petals……

Peggy Saunders, who’s the lovely mum of our very own Yvonne Sangster (A Trustee of Petals), celebrated her 90th birthday on February 25th – what a milestone!

To mark the occasion, a party was held for Peggy at The Anchor in Burwell, where she celebrated with family and friends….and she was particularly pleased to see family and friends from Lincolnshire, where she lived until moving to Burwell in 2013. Her birthday cake, which features Shaun the sheep hang gliding, says a lot about Peggy… she enjoyed gliding and has paraglided over Sydney Harbour…. and Shaun the sheep always makes her laugh!

As part of her party celebrations, Peggy very generously asked her family and friends to make donations to Petals rather than giving more conventional gifts….and by doing this raised the incredible sum of £315 for Petals!

But this isn’t the only way that Peggy supports Petals – she loves making flapjack for the Petals cake sales (which is absolutely delicious!), and has already made some for the next cake sale at the Grafton Centre on 19th March. We’re so grateful for her support – and we’re always very grateful for cakes!

So we at Petals would like to wish Peggy a fabulous year ahead – and also to thank her again for her immense generosity. Thank you so much!! xx
